Spanning two decades of dynamism in its commitment to mold the young, STEFTI celebrates its 20th year with a new and revitalized vision-mission-philosophy (VMP) and school logo.

The new VMP provides a clearer guide towards the direction that STEFTI will pursue beyond the 20 years, while the upgraded school logo is a more modern reflection of the school’s dynamic spirit.

And who better to create the artistic rendition of the new STEFTI logo than a renowned designer and artist who also happens to be a fellow Waraynon?

Here is a glimpse of the man behind our new look:

As a kid, Dan Matutina spent his growing up years in Leyte mesmerized about epic war battles and magical tales woven around traditional folklore. Today, this artist-genius of a man is one of the top designers in the Philippines.

Dan started his own design business in 2011, and has mastered the rigors of redesigning logos and major rebranding projects for big companies. He has worked on projects for Apple, Google, Microsoft, Pinterest, Airbnb, Samsung, Coca-Cola, Havaianas, Nike, and Uniqlo, to name a few.

His profile boasts of illustrations for international publications such as WiredThe Guardian, and The Wall Street Journal. His cover illustration for The Washington Post in 2016 was hailed as one of the “50 Great Illustrations of 2016”. In 2013, he was a recipient of the Art Directors Club Young Guns Award, one of the most coveted awards for young creatives around the globe.

This graphic artist believes that a design is more than just about being attractive, it also has to spur people to use it as a tool for change. His mission to use design for good is translated to work with his co-founders at Plus 63, a branding and design studio that is helping lift up Filipino design.
