As the school year ends, the MAPEH students in all departments showcased their talents in music, dance and the arts in a Grand Recital held last June 8-9 at the PRA Auditorium. This subject under the K-12 Curriculum is a compilation of combined subjects – Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health – all being taught in schools all over the Philippines.
The MAPEH Department aims to promote the artistic integrity of students’ cultural and unique identity through composition, documentation, and performance in music, arts, dances and making students conscious of the importance of health and physical education by keeping their minds, bodies, and spirit healthy.
The presentations of the different grade levels included hip-hop, folk and foreign dances. There were students who presented renditions of musical instrument pieces, group singing and band performances. In the field of art, there was an exhibit of different paintings, free-hand drawings/sketches.
Aside from being entertained, the audience was enthralled to see the creativity of the Grade 10 students as they did a runway ramp modelling of their innovative costumes made out of recycled and indigenous materials.
