Here we come finishing off at 20 on the 20th!
The STEFTI Virtual Race to 20 (VR20) which started last October 11 has finally come to a close, drawing more than a thousand participants from across the Philippines, and even as far as Australia and the USA. It was great to see families sweating it out with children in tow and some even running alongside their dogs!
One early finisher, Kiefer Obejas, covered the 20-km run in just two hours and 18 minutes! When asked what encouraged him to join the virtual run, Obejas, who is also a STEFTI alumnus (HS Batch 2010), said that it had been a long time since his last visit to STEFTI. Missing everything in his second home, he immediately decided to celebrate STEFTI’s 20th year by joining this run. For him, the VR20 provided a breather from all the monotony of staying indoors during this pandemic.
Meanwhile, families and groups of friends also took this opportunity to bond as they each completed their categories. In an email sent to the school, one STEFTI parent had this to say about the event:
“My 1st and 3rd graders enjoyed it so much, that even if we were done with the race, they both included jogging/walking as part of their activities for the week! Thank you so much for coming up with this activity...we truly appreciate it.”
