When we think of summer, we see palm trees, ocean breeze, salty air, sun kissed hair, travel… so the list grows. But in STEFTI, we begin summer with the “bustle, hit but never quit” tagline.  It was an all sweaty, tug then dodge, shoot and miss, scream and laugh weekend that happened during the HSCP Summer Sportsfest.  

Yes, it was challenging for parents both the young ones and the young once to play under the scorching summer heat and compete for their teams in the different sports.  Ball handling skills aren’t enough if you have to battle against a record-high heat index. But the spirit of the STEFTI parent remains undaunted, like a monarch, a knight, a templar, a crusader.  

In this two-day HSCP Summer Sports Festival, the Red Crusaders were hailed champions. gaining 8 golds, 5 silvers and 1 bronze.  The Orange Templars were declared 1^st runner-up, The Blue Knights came next and the Green Monarchs,  tailing fourth.  This festival commenced last Saturday, June 3 with a motorcade just around the outskirts of the city at 2:00 pm.  Then followed the different games such as basketball, volleybal, football, futsal, badminton, table tennis and chess.

Other activities included the FUNRUN/FUN WALK or FUN BIKE,  Zumba, Fellowship Lunch on the second day and the Raffle Draw which ended the two-day sportsfest.
