Rydelle Eugene A. Apostol, Marie Noelle F. Castillo and Rachelle Mae S. Falculan, Grade 12 students, joined the Asia World Model United Nations (AWMUN) Conference 2023 held at the Ambassador Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand last May 27-30. Anchoring on the theme, The Changing Global Order: Tackling Challenges Through Harmony”, this conference is attended by more than 300 delegates from around 40 countries.
The Asia World Model United Nations is an educational simulation of the United Nations that involves students from various nations who convene to discuss global and social issues. Discussions during this convention include a large variety of topics from economic to human rights issues, which then aims to develop in the participants their critical thinking and public speaking skills and establish connection among future young leaders around the globe.
Castillo, Falculan and Apostol compose the second batch of students from our school to join this conference. Last year, STEFTI alumna Rachel Lynn Lesiguez and 12th Grader Danielle Anne Ricote also attended this convention online. Lesiguez was adjudged as Outstanding Delegate with Ricote gaining the “Special Mention” award in that conference.
