

The STEFTI Braves Swimming Team delivered an outstanding performance at the EVRAA Meet 2025, held in Tacloban City last March 7 clinching multiple medals across various events and securing spots for the prestigious Palarong Pambansa.
Young swimming sensation Frances Annika Elmido showcased her skill and determination, earning 1 gold medal in the individual event for elementary category. She now advances to the Palaro, representing STEFTI on the national stage.
Meanwhile secondary female swimmers proved their strength in both individual and relay events with Cathleen Mae P. Alvero securing a silver and 2 bronze medals and Rhianne Elisha C. Aparri earning 2 silver and 2 bronze medal.
The 4x50m Medley Relay Team of Aparri, Alvero, and Nicole Angelyn A. Malpas also bagged silver.
The secondary swimming Braves boys’ category also dominated the pool, with seventh grader Jan Dwayne Malpas leading the charge, this time pitted against formidable senior high swimmers in the region. Malpas once again proved his mettle, earning him a Palaro qualification again.
Malpas, Zach Rafael Vermug, Sebastian Braseliño, and Carlos Brian Alvero also won gold in 4x50m Freestyle Relay, while Carlos Alvero, Karl Eitan Reposar) took silver. The team composed of Marion Xavier Vermug, Simon Padua and Karl Eitan Reposar earned bronze in 4x100m Freestyle Relay. Additionally, Sebastian Braseliño, Rhianne Elisha Aparri , Cathleen Mae Alvero, and Jan Dwayne Malpas secured silver in 4x100m Mixed Freestyle Relay.
Palaro-Bound Swimmers
After their stellar performances, Frances Annika Elmido and Jan Dwayne Malpas have qualified for Palarong Pambansa, bringing pride to STEFTI.
The success of the STEFTI Braves is credited to the dedication of Trainer Aaron Rae Asuncion and Coaches Joseph Formanes and Christine Catubay, whose hard work and expertise have brought the swimmers to excellence.
With this remarkable showing at EVRAA Meet 2025, the STEFTI Braves continue to cement their reputation as a powerhouse in swimming, ready to take on bigger challenges at the Palarong Pambansa.
