STEFTI Percussion and Arts Group (SPAG) raised the school’s banner once again, placing 2nd Place in the Senior Division of the 2019 Banda Rayhak Regional Inter-High School Drum and Lyre Competition last October 20, at the RTR Plaza, Tacloban City.
The event started with a parade around the city’s main streets. This was followed by the opening ceremonies and the actual competition. The showcase of performances started with the Junior Division, with a total of 4 participants while a total of 6 groups joined the Senior Division. The Holy Infant College Drum and Lyre Corps, 2018 Banda Rayhak champion, also participated as guest performers.
Aside from bagging 2nd Place, SPAG also won a Major Award, Best Drumline and a Special Award, Best Baton.
Banda Rayhak Competition was part of the 75th Leyte Gulf Landing Commemoration Anniversary, a special day to remember the fallen heroes of World War II.
