“We rebuild, reshape, reimagine what the future can look like for the students and the families we serve this 20^th year and beyond!”

Mrs. Sonia C. Palami, school director, officially kicked off the celebration of the school’s 20th Foundation Anniversary in her virtual speech aired last Oct. 1 on the occasion of the Feast Day of  St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the launching of Day 1 activities.  She opened her speech by saying that the school’s foundation activities had always been the highlight for every school year with its Novena Masses, fairs, fierce but friendly sportsfest competitions, academic contests, laughter and food and merrymaking during Family Days, among others.  However, she emphasized the fact that some of these traditions will be missed out during this 20^th year.

“It is time not to focus on the pandemic, but on what we can cherish and celebrate despite it,” she added.  Mrs. Palami urged the STEFTI family not to let Covid 19 hinder everyone from doing more exciting activities in this new way of celebrating this event. She announced that instead of having activities in only one week, these will be spread out during the entire year.  Every month thereafter, fun-filled and meaningful activities for the students, alumni, parents and even faculty members and families will be launched.

This year should’ve been a grand celebration for STEFTI. There would’ve been big shows and grand fireworks. STEFTI turning 20 would’ve been a major coming together of the STEFTI community. But even if we can’t be together, COVID won’t stop us. We focus not on what we cannot do, but on what we can still cherish and celebrate together.

And this is what our choir members, old and current, bring you. Although they are apart, they still sing together and raise their voices in love, thanksgiving and hope.

Covid can’t make our world stand still. Together we stand, together we RISE UP!
